Job Summary
Oversees, directs, and coordinates work functions associated with day-to-day operation of assigned sections within the Facilities Management Division.
Essential Functions
- Manages building maintenance and maintenance administrative sections of the Facilities Management Division.
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Provides or coordinates staff training; assists with overseeing intern program participants.
- Develops, directs, and implements capital and operating budgets for assigned Facilities sections; develops and adheres to schedules and deadlines and monitors progress of annual budget activities; review budget submissions and modify as necessary; evaluate, oversee and manage allocations; prepare/delegate portions of annual budget consolidation process, including summarization of data for review.
- Oversees Division indoor air quality (IAQ) and Capital Maintenance programs.
- Develops and implements maintenance staff safety trainings and programs; ensures staff is assigned appropriate PPE.
- Performs analyses of mechanical building systems to determine and document system capabilities, capacities, and efficiencies.
- Provides support to ensure designs comply with applicable criteria and standards, adopted building codes, vertical standards, and other related regulatory requirements.
- Oversees a variety of restoration projects such as improving efficiency of facilities, creating workspace for employees and other customers, and ensuring facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health, and security standards.
- Coordinates and manages major maintenance and improvement projects that fall below capital construction thresholds.
- Formulates and implements paint plan for County facilities.
- Oversees work covered by custodial, landscaping and pest control contracts, ensuring needs are met throughout the county.
- Coordinates fleet management and capital vehicle replacement needs as appropriate for the Division, executing equipment audits, and record keeping.
- Serves as liaison with Risk Management and County insurance providers for emergency mitigation requests.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Five (5) years of related experience.
- Candidates without a degree should possess four (4) additional years of related experience.
- Fingerprinting required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a county vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.
