Position Summary

The Grant Manager will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of grantmaking for the NYC Green Fund’s Treetops and Pathways programs, including planning, application development, review and selection process, ongoing grantee support, grantee convenings, and donor and community participation in grantmaking. This is an exciting opportunity for a grants professional with a sharpened skillset in project management, database management, and participatory grantmaking. The Grants Manager will work to ensure all grants maintain regulatory compliance and are efficiently processed.

The Grants Manager will join the Partnership Development team, engaging nonprofits, donors, and government partners in support of our parks and open spaces through fiscal sponsorship, grants administration, coalition-building work, and strategic initiatives. The Grant Manager will collaborate with Partnerships for Parks staff, who oversee grassroots grant support, to ensure we are

establishing annual goals, coordinating deadlines, and communicating to ensure consistent practices across the grants program.

Under the supervision of the Director of Partnership Development, the Program Manager will work closely with CPF leadership, staff across programs, funders, and external partners. This position is hybrid, with at least two days weekly in the office or conducting site visits. Direct supervision will be remote.

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience ranging from $65 - $80K annually

Responsibilities

Develop clear grants administration processes, including application and guidelines development, outreach plans, review processes, awarding funds, and reporting
Support applicants and grantees through organizing and leading grant consultations, workshops, convenings, and ongoing interactions through grant cycle
Explore, develop, and facilitate opportunities for community members, staff, and funders to participate in grant programs
Develop and manage process to collect feedback from applicants and grantees on grantmaking practices and opportunities for improvement
Support our grants management system (OpenWater) and managing data in Salesforce; develop a grants management handbook
Plan meetings and events with grantees and program funders, develop meeting agendas, presentations, funding strategies, and outreach plans
Collaboratively develop evaluation metrics, collect data and develop clear reports to share updates on program impact and effectiveness along with opportunities for improvement
Support departmental work including fundraising, grantmaking, government relations, and other work as needed
Work collaboratively across CPF and especially with Finance, Operations, Marketing, Development, and Partnerships for Parks

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience in managing grant administration, ideally participatory grantmaking processes
Knowledge of urban planning, open space, environmental justice and/or resiliency is preferred
Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, sense of humor, creativity, flexibility, and patience
Detail-oriented and organized project manager comfortable working on multiple projects with internal and external partners, balancing priorities and deadlines
Experience developing and managing budgets and handling sensitive financial information
Motivated, resourceful self-starter, confident working individually and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders including community volunteers, nonprofit partners, agency representatives, elected officials, and funders and comfortable in facilitating high-level meetings
Experience with program development, evaluation, and data collection and analysis; Proven ability to collect, interpret, and present pertinent data, develop and edit narrative reports
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed
Familiarity with Google Suite, OpenWater, and/ or Salesforce is a plus
Deep familiarity with New York City boroughs and neighborhoods; willingness and ability to travel across the city for site visits, meetings, projects, and events required
