The purpose of this position is to ensure the proper operations of the lift stations and water pump stations in the water and wastewater collection system and keeping city utilities within permitting guidelines. This is accomplished by performing collection of data and making necessary adjustments for optimal performance; ensuring repairs and preventative maintenance are conducted on lift stations, pumps, and motors; and managing finances to remain within budget. Other duties include maintaining open lines of communication with the Utilities Operations Manager / Chief Plant Operator and Assistant Wastewater Plant Operator and ensuring safety of employees and the public and responding to budget requests. This position is considered essential, and attendance is mandatory in the event of a storm, disaster, or other circumstantial event. May perform other related work as required.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Over 5 years of related experience required. Commercial Driver License with a clean driving record or the ability to get one within 6 months of hire; Possess a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality “Class C” Water Distribution license and a “Class I” Wastewater Collection or a “Class C” Wastewater Treatment license or be able to acquire both in 6 months.
