About The Role
As a Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations. You will conduct on-site inspections, issue permits, and process applications, all while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a versatile individual to balance field inspections with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections: Perform on-site inspections of residential and commercial buildings throughout all phases of construction to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
- Issue permits and process applications: Review and process building permit applications, issue permits, and maintain accurate records.
- Provide exceptional customer service: Communicate effectively with contractors, homeowners, and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise information regarding code requirements and inspection results.
- Maintain detailed records: Document inspection findings, violations, and corrective actions using digital platforms.
- Interpret and apply building codes: Stay up to date with current building codes and regulations and apply them accurately and consistently.
- Collaborate with team members: Work effectively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery.
- Manage scheduling and prioritize tasks: Effectively manage inspection schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Utilize computer systems: Proficiently use computer software for permit tracking, inspection reporting, and data management.

Qualifications
- Currently have ICC certifications: B1 and B2 or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of general construction experience, two years of municipal/jurisdictional building inspection experience, or a combination of both. Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and related regulations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate construction sites.
