HOUSING INSPECTOR – MULTI-FAMILY
DEPARTMENT: CODE ENFORCEMENT
This position works in the Multi-Family Division of the Code Enforcement Department and is responsible for conducting on-site inspections at multi-housing properties for compliance with adopted building codes and local civil and criminal ordinances; maintaining detailed records of inspections; and providing information to the public, contractors, architects and engineers. Duties will include conducting inspections, preparing documentation and investigating complaints. A high school diploma, or equivalent; some related college or vocational training; two years of related experience, e.g. building or housing rehabilitation, or strong construction background in areas like framing, electrical, plumbing or construction management; and a valid Class C Texas driver’s license are required. Must currently possess, or be able to obtain within specified timeframe, one of the following certifications: Code Enforcement License, International Building Code Certification, International Residential Code Certification, International Energy Conservation Code Certification or International Property Maintenance Code Housing Inspector. Bilingual skills (English / Spanish) are beneficial. A résumé must be submitted with a completed application.
PAY GRADE GG17 / FULL PAY RANGE $25.07 - $35.35 PER HOUR ($52,152 - $73,536 ANNUALLY)
