- Starting Salary: $53,019.20
- After Six Months of Successful Employment: $54,038.40
- After One Year of Successful Employment: $55,140.80
- Maximum salary is achieved after three successful years of employment.
NOTE: Annual salary adjustments may also occur, based on collective bargaining agreements.
An employee in this classification performs responsible and varied assignments in the Department of Public Works, Public Service Division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compose and prepare correspondence, letters, and reports
- Maintain records; research and compile information; prepare reports on spreadsheet and database software
- Perform administrative functions of the Department's capital outlay expenditures
- Administer FOIA requests
- Assist in contract administration, pay estimates, and specification research
- Assist in the preparation of bid specifications, maintenance services, and contract documents
- Attend meetings as required and generate minutes of the meetings
- Assist with various work projects
- Perform related duties as assigned
By the closing date of this announcement, an applicant must:
- Be a citizen of the United States or resident alien with the right to work in the United States; and
- Have a high school diploma or a valid equivalency certificate; and
- Have a minimum of two years full-time paid secretarial work experience within the last five years. (Part-time experience may be substituted for full-time experience); and
- Have a minimum of two years full-time paid work experience utilizing Microsoft Word or other word processing software.
NOTE: Candidates will be required to submit an original high school diploma or valid equivalency certificate by the date of the interview.

Written Test - 40% Interview - 60%*
NOTE: Applicants must pass the written test and interview in order to be placed on the eligible list.
* A maximum of ten applicants who score the highest on the written test will be invited to the Interview. If three applicants or fewer pass the written test, the interview will be waived, and the parts of the examination and weights will be 100% written test.
