Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of education and outreach duties and prepares associated documents and promotional materials for education campaigns.
The mission of Boone County's stormwater management program is to establish stormwater management requirements and controls to enhance and protect water quality, reduce stormwater pollutant runoff, and protect and safeguard the general health, safety, and welfare of the public residing in watersheds within Boone County. The stormwater education intern will work with Boone County stormwater staff on ongoing projects, day-to-day operations, and attending meetings or community events that may occur outside normal work hours.
Status: Temporary, part-time, non-benefited
Working hours: 15 – 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in education, environmental science, or related.
Ability to perform field observation and data collection in various weather conditions.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Comfortable in and around bodies of water.
Preferred Qualifications:
Missouri Stream Teams Level 1 Water Quality Monitoring trained
Starting Hourly Salary Range: $13.09 - $13.91 per hour
