Pima Countys Conservation Lands and Resources Department is seeking
highly motivated and hard-working individuals to fill a position as
Parks Coordinator I at Historic Canoa Ranch. As the Parks Coordinator I,
you will work within the Parks and Trails Division of Conservation Lands
and Resources supporting Pima Countys commitment to conservation. The
position will be part of a team that delivers land stewardship, supports
landscape and cultural maintenance, construction, historic preservation,
and restoration projects within Historic Canoa Ranch, a Sonoran Desert
habitat. This role also supports the coordination of venue rentals, and
public events, as well as paid staff, and volunteers, in their daily
assignments at Historic Canoa Ranch.

- Participates in the skilled operational and preventive maintenance
of complex facilities, equipment and or systems;
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance of park grounds, complex
facilities, irrigation systems, and equipment;
- Operates a variety of tools and specialized equipment which may
require possession of a CDL depending on assignment;
- Performs quality control analysis on equipment, supported systems,
turf management, ball field preparation, and all other park assets
contained in assigned property;
- Assists with the setup and maintenance of park amenities such as
fencing, trails, and recreational facilities;
- Leads, delegates, supervises Parks Specialists I and II, Parks
Technicians I and II, and volunteer staff with maintenance or
project activities;
- Maintains comprehensive activity, operations, service and usage
records on supported vehicles, equipment and systems;
- Prepares oral and written reports related to daily operations and
project status;
- Supports contractor activities by reporting on-site observations to
supervisors;
- May assist in natural resource areas with tasks such as leading and
training team members in skilled maintenance in environmentally
sensitive locations, historic restoration, fencing, equestrian
complex, camping facilities, ponds, trails, adobe buildings, habitat
restoration, erosion control and invasive species.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of direct journey-level work experience in parks and
recreation, landscape management, facility operations, or a related
field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.**

- Two years of experience with Pima County as a Parks Specialist I or
II.**

Minimum two (2) years\' experience in a natural resources management,
restoration ecology, conservation biology, botany, environmental
science, wildlife biology, or a related field.
Minimum one (1) year of experience in volunteer or event coordination,
training, and leading groups of program participants of varying ages in
a natural resource setting.
