Job Duties: This position is responsible for supervising a team of officers who supervise adult offenders placed on probation by the Court for both misdemeanor and felony convictions. The chosen candidate will carry a partial caseload of adult probation clients while also being responsible for the direct supervision of a team of staff. Completion of risk/needs assessments, caseload supervision responsibilities, preparing and proofing affidavits to the court in addition to ensuring officers’ compliance with office protocol and procedure will be included in daily tasks.
Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree is required with preference given to degrees in a social services field. This position requires attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills in addition to computer skills. The ability to work both independently and with a team is required as is the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner. Ability to supervise staff and handle confidential personnel information is required.
Preferred qualifications: Minimum of two years of experience working in the field of probation and/or corrections. Preference given to those who are currently or have prior experience as a Court Services Officer. Risk/needs assessment and EPICS certification as well as knowledge of evidence-based practices is preferred. The ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and multi-task is important. Strong leadership and decision-making skills are desired.
