At River’s Edge Convention Center, we pride ourselves on creating memorable experiences for our guests and ensuring the smooth operation of our events. From large-scale conventions to intimate gatherings, our facility is a hub of activity, and we’re looking for a dedicated Operations and Maintenance Technician to join our team and help us deliver top-notch service.
As an integral part of our team, you’ll be responsible for assisting with event move-ins, set-ups, move-outs; event oversight and monitoring of part-time and contracted labor; assisting with housekeeping and janitorial services as directed; monitoring and assisting user groups with audio visual equipment and public address systems; and assisting and maintaining effective working relationships with user groups, employees, and the public.
This role requires flexibility and a willingness to work significant night and weekend shifts around scheduled events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs set- ups and take downs for events and shows, ensuring all tasks are completed according to event work order.
Responds to visitor inquiries regarding event information and directions in and around the convention center. - Monitors and cleans restrooms, commons spaces, and meeting rooms.
- Monitor, operate, and assist with audio visual equipment, lighting equipment, and public address system.
- Operates power equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, lawn mowers, snowblowers, tools and equipment related to the operation of a convention center.
- Assists and works on a high-reach lift at 27’ above the ground installing stage lights, chain hoists, electrical drop cords, curtains, signs, and other apparatus as needed.
- Assists with installation, replacement and repairs of minor electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, floor coverings and other building systems.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma; Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of a convention center/hospitality building facility/arena; and must have a valid MN issued driver’s license that is unrestricted except for corrective lenses.

Hiring Rate: $49,310 annually/ $23.70 per hour. Full Salary Range: $49,310 - $66,293.
