The City of Saratoga Springs currently has an opening for a Maintenance I - Water, Sewer, Streets, Cemetery, Storm Drain, Parks technician. This is a full-time position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week. The Public Works Department will try to provide the successful applicant with opportunities to grow and progress within the department.
This position is responsible for assisting in the ongoing operation and maintenance of the City’s parks, streetscapes, water, sewer, cemetery, park facilities, open spaces, and other properties throughout the City. Additionally, this position is responsible for assisting in the ongoing operation and maintenance of culinary water and secondary water throughout the City. This position also functions as one of the City’s principal “on-call” employee for after-hours emergencies related to areas of responsibility and snow plowing.
Education & Experience:
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• No experience is required, however preference will be given to applicants with some experience
working with public works systems or general construction
Water
Certifications required (these must be acquired within 6 months of start of employment):
• A Valid Utah CDL
• CPR
• First Aid
• OSHA Confined Spaces
• OSHA Trench Safety Training.
• Backflow 101
Sewer:
Certifications Required:
• Sewer Collections I or II certification within twelve (12) months of hiring.
• OSHA Confined Space Certification.
• OSHA Trench Safety Training.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Utah CDL License or ability to obtain license within (6) months of hiring
Streets/Storm Drain:
Certifications:
• Storm Water Inspector certification within twelve (12) months of hiring.
• OSHA Confined Space Certification.
• OSHA Trench Safety Training.
• First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Utah CDL License or ability to obtain license within (6) months of hiring.
Parks/Cemetery
Certifications Required (applicant must currently possess these or be able to acquire them within six months of the start of employment):
• A Valid Utah CDL.
• CPR.
• First Aid.
• Equipment training and competency.
• City Works work order documentation.
• Certified Utah Non Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, category #3 Ornamental turf.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range:
The full salary range is as follows, please note hiring will normally occur at the Minimum of the range and will not exceed the Midpoint of the range:
- Maintenance I: Minimum - $20.73/hr., Midpoint - $24.88/hr., Maximum - $29.02/hr.

Leave time benefits include 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) accrued annually, 40 hours of short-term medical accrued annually, and 11 holidays annually
