Sr Sign Specialist

Summary:

Performs complex technical fabrication tasks on light and heavy-duty vehicles, facility signage, banners, and roadway signage under general supervision. Operates a variety of specialized power and hand shop tools including a Waterjet, welding equipment and other fabrication tools. Other duties include identifying needed supplies and ordering sufficient material inventories to ensure completion of related assignments.

This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.

This is a Safety-Sensitive Position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook.

***Pay Range: $19.30-$25.39 ***

*** $2,000 Retention Bonus ***

Responsibilities:

Completes modifications and repairs on signs, facilities, and vehicles and equipment by reviewing work orders; makes modifications at the direction of the Sign supervisor and or Sign Lead technician.
Completes administrative tasks by answering the phone and responding to inquiries, creating work orders, completing technical research on signs, posters vehicles and equipment, providing technical assistance, interacting with vendors, and training employees in safety techniques.
Fabricates and welds metal components and equipment.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

Associate’s degree or technical equivalent
3 – 5 years’ experience
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain Class “B” CDL within 12 months of hire
Ability to obtain welding certification within 12 months of hire

Preferred:

Valid Texas driver’s license
Class “B” CDL
Welding certification
