Salary: $98,596 – $109,552

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily water utility operations and AMI/work order systems
Serve as “Operator in Responsible Charge” per Illinois EPA
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Lead water distribution & metering staff; hire, train, and evaluate team
Recommend infrastructure improvements and capital projects
Administer consultant contracts and coordinate with treatment facilities
Prepare and monitor division budget; manage procurement and inventory

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in civil/sanitary engineering, public administration, or related field
Illinois Class “D” Water Operator’s license (Class “C” preferred; D obtainable within 1 year)
5+ years supervisory experience; 7+ years water distribution operations
Valid Illinois Driver’s License

Skills & Expertise:

Water distribution regulations, mains, and construction standards
Occupational safety (underground utilities, confined spaces)
Microsoft Office, GIS, AMI, and proprietary software
Budgeting, technical research, and team leadership
Stakeholder engagement and excellent communication
