The Seattle Fire Department is seeking a temporary, full-time Administrative Specialist 3 to support the Behavioral Health Program of the Seattle Fire Department. This position will report to the Department’s Behavioral Health Coordinator and will provide administrative support for the new Behavioral Health Awareness training. This position will also assist with managing the related grant’s $366K line item for scheduling, purchasing, processing, tracking and reporting.

This is an 11-month appointment expected to end in late 2026. Temporary premium pay will be paid in lieu of fringe benefits.

Assist with the launch of the Department’s new Behavioral Health Awareness workshop training.
Edit and publish workshop materials (handouts, talking points, references, etc.)
Schedule training sessions for all units/shifts using the Department’s Activities Scheduler.
Coordinate with members of the peer support team to deliver workshops.
Draft and publish the feedback survey and process all responses.
Submit and process backfill/overtime requests
Assist with scheduling grant training programs (manage instructor schedules, reserve training locations, order and publish class materials, and draft memos soliciting attendees).
Process and track grant purchases and reporting.
Perform other special projects and duties as assigned by the Behavioral Health Coordinator.

Requires three years of office clerical support experience (or a combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides evidence of the ability to perform work of the class).

A successful candidate will also possess the following experience and skills:

Experience in managing or supporting training programs.
Experience with grants, budgets, or financial tracking.
Familiarity with behavioral health or related wellness initiatives.
Commitment to providing equitable service in a diverse environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multitask and perform assigned work with frequent interruptions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Access, and Adobe desired.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.

Temporary hourly rate: $38.27 - $38.27 per hour.
