Pay begins at $41,556.17 yearly salary for Customer Service Representative and is dependent upon applicable experience.
In addition to the base salary, this full-time position is eligible for an annual performance bonus as well as a longevity bonus.BENEFITS in 2026 :

The purpose of this classification is to perform customer service duties for the department of Utilities by dealing with the public over the phone and in person. Duties and responsibilities include: completing customer applications for service, dispatching construction and emergency response personnel, assisting customers with billing and service questions, and preparing work orders and adjustments. Under general supervision, reports to Customer Service Supervisor.
The following duties are normal for this position. Provides information/assistance regarding utilities services, activities, procedures, fees, or other issues; distributes forms/documentation as requested; responds to routine questions, complaints, or requests for service; and initiates problem resolution.
Performs reception functions; answers telephone calls and greets visitors; ascertains nature of business, directs callers/visitors to appropriate personnel, and records/relays messages; and initiates and returns calls as necessary.
Performs various administrative duties such as creating reports, correspondence, and memos and using word processing and spreadsheets.
Resolves any problems related to billing.
Assists the customer in initial service set-up; enrolls individuals and business for water, sewer, and gas service; issues work orders; and evaluates and dispatches work crews regarding problems with services that may relate to broken lines and odor calls.
Enters water and gas readings into computer; writes up deposit refunds and check requests; enters certificates of occupancy and gas inspections; makes adjustments for such items as pools, leaks, and misreads; enters data onto spreadsheets; and prepares standard reports.
Creates new account when gas, water, and sewer taps are sold; generates and completes all work orders associated with new construction as needed.
Completes all work orders in system, verifies readings, and contacts customer, if needed.
Utilizes Geographic Information Systems to assist in locating sewer, water, and gas main lines.
Prepares weekly cut-off lists for delinquent accounts. Tracks payments and dispatch as paid.
Assist in ordering supplies, materials, and other commodities. Maintains inventory of stored items.
Accurately files all paperwork in a timely fashion. Makes file folders for new accounts.
Assists Director of Utilities with customer inquiries about service.
Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer's perception of the Town.
Promotes the teamwork environment. Assists co-workers when necessary.
Helps maintain the cleanliness of work area.
Any other duties as assigned.
Two (2) years of clerical, customer service, or office administration experience.

Must posses a High school diploma or GED.
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
