PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $134,827.71 - $182,018.26
Hourly Pay Range: $64.821015 - $87.508780
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development (DTD) is seeking an experienced professional engineer and a strategic, forward-thinking, and collaborative leader to take on the role of a Transportation Engineering Manager. If selected for this position, you will oversee the Transportation Engineering programs within the Transportation Services line of business. These programs perform work that includes road and bridge capital project design and construction, right-of-way acquisition, traffic engineering, transportation surveying, road statute administration and motor carrier enforcement. In this role, you will be responsible for all program operations and provide direction to supervisory, professional, technical and administrative support personnel.
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in a related field that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
• A minimum of three (3) years of the above experience must have been in a supervisory role, overseeing professional, technical, or operational staff in engineering or transportation programs (Supervisory experience includes assigning work, training staff, preparing and reviewing team or individual performance appraisals, correcting performance deficiencies, and recommending corrective actions)
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Oregon, or registration in another state obtained by examination with the ability to obtain Oregon registration within one year of hire
• Experience performing or overseeing civil engineering design and construction for transportation public works projects
• Experience managing capital improvement projects, including budgets, schedules, and contractor/consultant oversight
• Experience interpreting and applying transportation-related laws, codes, standards, and permitting requirements
Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
• Experience managing multi-year capital improvement programs (CIP), including funding strategy, prioritization, and coordination with state or federal partners
• Experience working in a public sector transportation public works agency, such as a city, county, or state Department of Transportation
• Experience participating in public engagement efforts for transportation or infrastructure projects, including presenting to elected officials or community groups
• Experience with transportation planning or right-of-way acquisitions

WORK SCHEDULE
Incumbent in this position will work 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday or Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific days and hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington.
