The City of Springfield’s Building Development Services Department is hiring an Administrative Assistant to join a collaborative, customer-focused team. This role supports permitting and inspection services through scheduling, record management, and front-line assistance to the public. What This Position Will Do
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Building Development Services team.
- Serve as a front-line contact for customers by phone, email, and in-person.
- Schedule inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and departmental documents.

Experience, Education, and Training- Requires at least two years of experience in general office work;
OR
- 2 years of related college or vocational education from an accredited college/university.
PREFERRED
- Experience with an emphasis on contact with the public.
Licensing/Certification- Assignment to some departments requires incumbent to possess a valid driver's license and in some cases provide own vehicle for on-the-job transportation purposes.
