This position will be scheduled primarily for evening and weekend shifts and may require working at multiple community center locations.
Operates the front desk area of Recreation Center.
Performs operations from established guidelines or instructions. Work requires independent thought and the ability to adjust to changing environments.
Essential Job Functions:
Supervises the front desk area.
Processes class registration.
Processes membership cards and fees.
Operates cash register, opening, close-out, etc.
Assists with the preparation of financial and attendance reports.
Answers telephone.
Responds to inquires for information or assistance.
Interprets and explains rules and regulations; reports violations.
Staffs special events as required.
Other Duties
Performs related work as required.

Public service practices.
Building operation procedures.
Basic computer operation.
Ability to--
Maintain cash and reports.
Interpret rules and regulations and apply to situations.
Operate basic computer software.

Operate registration software.
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.)
Training and/or Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Two years experience working in a customer service-oriented position.
Licenses or Certificates:
First Aid and CPR certificates preferred.
Special Requirements:
Subject to background investigation if employed in the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Physical Demands:
Requires long periods of sitting, standing, frequent walking indoors, repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or reaching; recurring lifting of objects up to 49 pounds; operation of keyboard devices.
Usual Demands:
Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nonexempt
Compensation Steps:
Pay rate: $19.83 per hour
Grade H09, hourly position, up to 40 hours per week
