Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Job Summary
To administer all financial operations within the District to ensure the responsible management of public funds and the highest level of financial integrity. Financial operations include, but are not limited to, Budgeting, Accounting, Payroll, Procurement, Auditing, Grants Management, Financial Reporting, and Long-Range Financial Planning.
Essential Duties
- Assess district financial needs by conferring with staff and community stakeholders and plan accordingly across all financial service areas.
- Lead fiscal, budgetary, and long-range financial planning across all financial operations.
- Serve on the Superintendent's Cabinet.
- Supervise direct reports, including Finance Division Directors, Managers, and Supervisors, and evaluate their performance yearly.
- Provide assistance and support to school principals relative to financial procedures, budget oversight, and compliance.
- Maintain adequate budgetary controls to ensure the wise, appropriate, and transparent expenditure of district funds.
- Provide assistance and support to District administrative personnel and the Board of Education relative to district-wide financial operations, reporting, and planning.
- Enhance professional growth through attendance and participation in seminars and conferences at the local, state, regional, and national level.
Other Duties
Will also perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
Job Specifications
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required)
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related area from an accredited college or university.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a financial management or administrative role with supervisory responsibilities, ideally within a school district or public-sector environment.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone.
