What You’ll Do:
- Officiate games & enforce rules to ensure fair play & positive sportsmanship.
- Promote participant safety through strong rule knowledge & game management.
- Manage conflicts & de-escalate issues with coaches, parents, & participants as needed.
- Provide rule instruction & clarification to participants when appropriate.
- Complete accident & incident reports as needed; provide basic first aid within scope of training.
Minimum Qualifications
- Age: Must be 14 years of age or older.
- Education: Minimum 8th grade graduate. High school & college students are encouraged to apply.
- Training/Knowledge: Must attend an officials training/clinic sponsored by Salina Parks & Recreation and/or be certified in the sport prior to the league season (sport dependent).
- Work conditions: Ability to work indoors & outdoors as assigned.
- Background checks: Must pass background checks.
- Driving: This is a non-driving position.
- Preferred: CPR & First Aid certifications desired.
Pay DOQ EOE:
- Baseball: $35.00–45.00 per game
- Soccer: $24.00–28.00 per game
- Softball: $35.00–42.00 per game
May be assigned across sports depending on training, availability, & department needs.
Hours:
· Works primarily evenings & weekends.
· Fourteen (14) year olds may be scheduled to work between the hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm; 7:00 am to 9:00 pm from June 1 to Labor Day.
