Position Summary
The Legal Administrator has overall responsibility for ensuring that all administrative and logistical support necessary for the successful operation of the Law Department is provided without interruption. The Legal Administrator will serve as the Agency Right-to-Know Officer for Bucks County Commissioners and Administration. This position will assist the needs of the Law Department, and the County Solicitor. Duties require professionalism, responsibility and organization. Work involves computer literacy, excellent writing and grammar, deadline management ability to learn new skills and systems and a good working knowledge of the day-to-day operation of county government.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Interdepartmental coordination of administrative procedures within the Bucks County Government and development and implementation of policies and procedures in support of the mission of this office.
- Serve as the Agency's Open Records Officer.
- Respond to Right-to Know requests directed to the Bucks County Commissioners and Administration including accumulating records and redacting documents.
- Handle appeals before the Pennsylvania Office of Open records.
- Manage the Right-to-know inbox and update internal tracking systems daily.
- Provide general support to attorneys and other staff working in the Law Department.
- Provide organizational support for document management to maximize division efficiency and communication.
- Scan, copy, and log data and records in internal office system.
- Schedule appointments, provide clerical support, track and monitor deadlines.
- Manage schedule and incoming correspondence of County Solicitor.
- Read, analyze and distribute incoming mail.
- Schedule job applicant and intern interviews and address Human Resource needs as requested.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling training and Law Department meetings attended by the County Solicitor and Administrative Deputy County Solicitor.
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties as need.

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Skilled and proficient in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and communications, i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated with good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with other personnel.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 50 wpm).
