We are looking for someone who is:
- Proactive.You should take charge of difficult situations
- Curious. You will need to learn, read, and apply the laws, rules, regulations, and operating procedures of the Animal Services Department
- Hard-working. You will work in a fast-paced environment and will need to multi-task while maintaining high-quality work
- Flexible! You will need to adapt to frequent change
- Supportive. You will work on a team and should be willing to step in and help others as needed
What you will typically be responsible for:
- Helping the public process Return-to-owner transactions, adoptions, the intake of stray animals, and many other transactions on the computer
- Assisting the public with the information and resources needed on animal-related problems or issues
- Taking calls from the public, answering questions regarding laws, ordinances, animals at the shelter, reclaiming their pets, and numerous other questions that may arise
- Communicate and contact owners through email and provide information and resources for keeping their pets or rehoming. Also, if necessary, process a surrender and complete the necessary paperwork
- Handling dog license sales
- Varying schedules Monday-Sunday with a bid process and possible overtime
- Handling spay, neuter, and vaccine clinics
