This position is responsible for collection and analysis of property tax data, as well as for property tax revenue collection for the City of East Point.
- Oversees the work of Tax Clerks; assigns, reviews and evaluates work;
- As related to master property database, reviews and updates property ownership data, with a focus on accurate recording of exemption information, as well as property delinquencies;
- Manages customer billing and addresses customer service issues (errors, complaints, informational needs, billing adjustment requests) related to said billing;
- Documents transaction entries into computer database;
- Writes off delinquent accounts and creates reports for submission to collection agencies;
- Represents the City regarding inquiries into utility bills, services, and the establishment or termination of services;
- Prepares the daily cash report for his/her entries to balance cash drawer.
- Prepares deposit slips and prepares for its delivery to bank;
- Reviews to make sure all payments are posted;
- Performs other duties as required.
Associate's degree required, with college coursework in Accounting and Banking; five (5) years of progressively responsible, related experience; ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking customers desired; equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Controls: This position is under the direct supervision of the Tax Coordinator.
Guidelines: Guidelines include tax laws, codes and regulations and City codes and ordinances.
Complexity: This position collects, records and analyzes property tax data for the City.
Scope and Effect: This position generates property tax revenue for the City.
Personal Contacts: Contacts are with co-workers, property owners, and the general public.
Purpose of Contacts: The purpose of the contacts is to give or exchange information, resolve problems, negotiate or settle matters.
Physical Demands: This position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 25 pounds, carrying, pulling, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, and seeing.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed sitting at a desk in an office environment, with a moderate level of noise.
