Job Summary:
The Multimedia Specialist will be responsible for planning, designing, creating and producing a wide variety of quality illustrative graphic artwork, printed and electronic materials (including videos), web pages of varying degrees of complexity and video communication activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates requests of individuals and/or sites to ensure availability of audio video equipment for use. (e.g. installation, system design, repair, technical support, equipment requirements, etc.)
2. Evaluates media equipment and software applications to ensure ability to make repairs, provide technical support, diagnose malfunctions and/or recommend acquisitions.
3. Instructs others in the operation and uses of media equipment and/or computer applications.
4. Prepares media equipment and materials to ensure requested equipment is in operational condition.
5. Operates audio/video equipment for City’s board meetings (broadcast/non-broadcast).
6. Designs and creates original web pages and landing pages.
7. Creates original designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
8. Creates layout and designs of original logos and other published materials in print and online.
9. Creates original videos for public distribution via broadcast and social media outlets. Include pre-production and post production duties; scripting, storyboarding, filming and editing of original material.
10. Manages and provides audio/video capabilities needed by City staff for conferences, special events, and meetings.
11. Provides content updates and maintenance to Web sites as well as design, production and web optimization.
12. Works closely with other departments to ensure that the City’s website is accurate and up to date.
13. Coordinates with other departments to create a variety of effective marketing medium that heighten the visibility of programs and/or increases interest and audience.
14. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of audio/video equipment; sound boards, camera systems, recording software, live broadcast systems, Rushworks, and V-Desk.
· Knowledge of web design and implementation; not limited to HTML, CSS, and JAVA.
· Strong knowledge of DSLR and Video camera functionality.
· Strong understanding of professional photo lighting techniques, including composition, exposure, and the effective use of natural and artificial lighting to support high-quality visual content creation.
· Proficiency in use of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or other Web and print compatible.
· Proficiency in use of Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro or other video editing software.
· Proficiency in use of Canva Enterprise to create, manage, and maintain on-brand digital and multimedia content within a collaborative, enterprise-level environment.
· Broad knowledge of graphic art concepts, techniques and processes including knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
· Excellent customer service attitude, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and time management.
· Excellent written, verbal, and phone communication skills.
· Ability to create attractive, effective and responsive Web designs.
· Ability to work alone, under minimal supervision, and as part of a team.

Education, Certification and Experience Required:
· Possession of a valid High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by some college level courses and a minimum of two years of graphical design experience in website and graphic design.
· Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Duties are generally performed in an office setting. Some light work requiring occasional lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry, and vision to monitor. Work may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. Driving is also a requirement of this position.

· Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events when needed.
