If this occurs, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice will be provided prior to closing.- Oversees the development and execution of sustainability program planning including project identification and prioritization, facilitation of Department staff and stakeholder involvement and tracking of project execution and progress. Provides technical expertise to Department staff and outreach to community groups. Develops and implements approaches and metrics to ensure the overall sustainability of the Department is progressing towards goals associated with citywide initiatives.
- Manages efficient water use program including handling of water use contracts and water rights issues associated with Department water use for irrigation and maintenance of Department sites. Using best available technology tracks water use and produces annual reporting for stakeholders. Monitors, reviews and approves Annual Irrigation Assessments. Attends Irrigation District and Canal/Lateral Association Board meetings where appropriate and monitors various irrigation improvement activities. Works with Asset Management on stormwater and irrigation storage ponds and MS4 reporting. Establishes and files for Beneficial Use Certifications.
- Performs property management responsibilities including Construction Use License Applications processing and Administration. Works with Parks planner and Code Enforcement on Park property encroachment and other Department property-related issues. Facilitates and assists with internal notification, distribution and invoicing/payment of Dig Line tasks. Works with the Design and Development team for new park and project wells, water lines, storm drains. Serves as liaison for Department with regard to Forestry and Volunteer Coordination on Boise River vegetation management and Bank Stabilization work (Greenbelt) and Foothills vegetation and fire risk work.
- Performs detailed assessments of Department water, materials, land and energy use as well as site efficiencies, food production/consumption and transportation. Assists all units with tracking and management methods for sustainability focus areas. Manages Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program including tracking and accounting for pesticide use for maintenance of department sites.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental or science field(s), engineering or related field and two years’ administration experience in the environmental field(s) working with broad sustainability concepts and projects, federal and state regulatory statutes governing municipal activities as it relates to sustainability, water use, and pesticide management and or equivalent combination experience and education.
Knowledge of: - Sustainability, engineering, chemical and biological principals, terminology and techniques relating to a variety of environmental programs.
- Environmental control, project assessment and site development.
- Civil engineering and chemical, physical and biological sciences; public administration and budgeting.
