The Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) is looking for a Public Information Officer. This executive service position is under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Communications and External Affairs and supports social media and video projects for the department. In addition, this position will work in conjunction with the Communications Team to present to stakeholders about DDA's programs and perform other duties associated with internal and external content creation. This position does require some overnight travel within the state.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, shoot, write and edit external and internal videos and animations to showcase DDAs mission and vision to a broad audience.
- Support DDAs nationally recognized social media properties, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and LinkedIn through video and graphic content creation.
- Create digital material that is compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards (ADA Accessibility).
- Create compelling presentations to give to a variety of external stakeholders.
- Update DDA web properties.
- Perform other communications functions as assigned by the Deputy Director of Communications and External Affairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required, preferably in journalism, communications, marketing or public relations .
- At least two years of experience in journalism or public relations.
