Parks Superintendent
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing leadership, planning and coordination for the maintenance and improvements of all City owned parks; and provides supervision to Division employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, organizes, and supervises the operational activities, budget, and employees for the Parks Division. Manages the operations, maintenance, replacement and repair of city parks, including but not limited to, athletic fields, irrigation systems, Aquatic Center water quality, playgrounds, open space, landscaping, park amenities, natural areas, recreational areas, buildings, park restroom facilities, and snow removal.
- Performs critical decision-making and is given the independence and discretion to set up processes and/or programs; provides general oversight and direction for implementation of programs and services.
- Monitor and balance pool chemicals at Aquatic Center to maintain clean and safe water.
- Assists with preparing and administering the Division's capital improvement plan (CIP) and annual budget. Forecasts expenditure and staffing levels. Prepares purchase orders, reviews and approves expenditures......
Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in park management or closely related field with a minimum of 5-6 years of parks maintenance, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- 3-4 years of previous lead or supervisory experience in parks maintenance.
- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification preferred.
- Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.
SALARY: The City of Woodstock provides a comprehensive benefits package for this role. The hiring range for this position is $95,000 to $107,000. Compensation and placement of the final hire will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
