About this Opportunity
Performs a variety of program assistance to the employees of and visitors to the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
Performs duties that involve extensive communication and involvement with the public at certain time of the year.
The City of Cedar Rapids does not offer sponsorship for employment authorization.Job Duties & Responsibilities- Registers customers for programs;
- Distributes materials and prizes for the summer reading programs;
- Assists with presenting
to and monitoring programs; - Assists with set up and take down for programs;
- Assists with special events;
- Performs light janitorial duties such as emptying trash and cleaning tables;
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, copying, and collating;
- Assists patrons in locating materials using the public catalog;
- Adheres to and enforces facility policies, rules and regulations and educates patrons about them;
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices;
- Assists with special projects and peak workloads of other staff as assigned;
- Attends work regularly at the designated place and time;
- Supports continuous process improvement initiatives;
- Performs related work as required.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Work Schedule- May-August Flexible up to 35 hours per week; Hours worked will generally fall between 8:45am - 7:00pm with some Saturdays as needed.
