DEPARTMENT: Elkhart County Parks & Recreation
HIRING RANGE: $23.35-$28.55/hour based on education and position related experience. Longevity pay after 3 years.

POSITION TO BE FILLED After July 6, 2026
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hours/week
LOCATION OF POSITION: OxBow Park/Other parks as assigned
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Between Parks (please complete driving page on application)
Job Summary
Responsibilities for maintaining park facilities, grounds, and equipment, and protecting park lands and visitors.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 1 year of related work experience for Park I and 2 years of post-secondary education in related field for Park II
- Be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license
- Ability to operate various vehicles/equipment/tools in the performance of duties
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of department policies and procedures, County ordinances, and applicable OHSA safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work professionally with the public and as a team with other staff
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen
