Responsibilities - What you’ll do
In this mid-level role, you will serve as the organization’s dedicated resource for cost analysis, pricing integrity, and financial research. You will play a critical role in ensuring that pricing decisions are grounded in accurate data, current cost structures, and sound methodology — protecting margins and supporting sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve standardized costing templates and pricing models used across the organization.
- Review and validate pricing inputs from cross-functional teams — including production and factory staff — prior to customer-facing quotes or contract submissions.
- Conduct cost variance analysis to identify discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, and recommend corrective action.
- Analyze labor rates, overhead allocations, material costs, and indirect expenses to ensure all pricing reflects true cost of production.
- Perform competitive benchmarking and market research to inform price-to-win strategies and ensure the business remains competitively positioned.
- Monitor material cost fluctuations and proactively update pricing assumptions to reflect current market conditions.
- Support bid and proposal development by providing accurate, validated cost data and pricing guidance.
- Ensure contract pricing compliance, including tracking escalation clauses, cost adjustments, and term adherence.
- Partner with finance, sales, operations, and production teams to promote pricing consistency and financial discipline across the business.
- Prepare and present pricing analysis reports and findings to leadership on a regular cadence.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Six or more years of experience in cost analysis, pricing, financial analysis, or related field.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, that includes earned credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, or related field, may substitute for up to four years of the required experience – a minimum of two years of experience is still required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in cost modeling, spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google Sheets), and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including labor, overhead, and material cost structures.
- Demonstrated ability to identify pricing errors, margin risks, and cost inefficiencies.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Experience presenting financial findings to non-financial stakeholders.

Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive:
- A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center).
- A $0.75 per hour maximum security stipend if you work full-time at a qualifying facility.
- A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing stipend if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
