Job Duties: This position is responsible for supervising a team of officers who supervise adult and juvenile offenders placed on probation by the Court for both misdemeanor and felony convictions. The chosen candidate will carry a partial caseload while also being responsible for the direct supervision of a team of staff. Completion of risk/needs assessments, caseload supervision responsibilities, preparing and proofing court-ordered reports for the court in addition to ensuring officers’ compliance with office protocol and procedure will be included in daily tasks.
Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in a social services field is required. Minimum of two years of experience working in the field of probation and/or corrections is preferred. Risk/needs assessment and EPICS certification as well as knowledge of evidence-based practices is preferred. Ability to interact with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner is required.
Preferred qualifications: This position requires attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills. Computer skills required. Ability to work both independently and with a team is required. Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and multi-task is important. Ability to supervise staff and handle confidential personnel information is required. Strong leadership and decision-making skills are desired.
