Summary
Responsible for maintaining security, safety, and decorum in an assigned court and associated public facilities while the court is in session and during public access hours.
Minimum/Preferred Requirements
Administrative skillset.
Ability to articulate rules, policies and procedures.
Resolve conflict and heightened situations.
Ability to train staff in emergency and evacuation procedures.
Compiling and summarizing information and preparing periodic or special reports as requested.
Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with staff, coworkers, and the public.
Ability to maintain business like decorum in the courthouse at all times.
Physical ability to protect Judges, all Court personnel, Attorneys, visitors and Court property.
Ability to conduct Internal and external perimeter security walks.
Monitors scanning equipment, general public and prisoners at bailiff station, security gate or in the courtroom to ensure safety as directed by the Court.
Ability to take emergency action and or notify emergency personnel as situations warrant; may administer basic first aid or CPR if required.
Record-keeping principles and practices.
Reading and explaining rules, policies, and procedures.
Compiling and summarizing information and preparing periodic or special reports.
Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines
Establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with staff, coworkers, and the public.
Nevada Class C Driver's License.
Nevada Category I POST Certification (must remain in good standing).
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within six (6) months of date of employment.
High school diploma/GED; AND two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or public safety; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
