Looking for a finance leadership opportunity where you can have a real seat at the table - and see the results of your work?
The City of Calimesa is seeking an experienced municipal finance professional to join a small, cohesive and highly collaborative leadership team as its next Finance Director. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, wants professional autonomy, and would welcome the chance to help shape the financial systems and long-range planning of a growing city.
In Calimesa, you won't be one department head among dozens. The Finance Director works directly with the City Manager, collaborates closely with fellow department heads, advises the City Council, and plays an important role in decisions affecting the City's future. Your expertise will be valued, your recommendations will matter, and the impact of your work will be visible throughout the organization.
The timing makes the opportunity particularly interesting. Calimesa is growing, and the new Finance Director will have the chance to strengthen financial planning and forecasting, help implement the City's new ERP/financial system, improve budgeting and financial information, evaluate revenue opportunities, and help the organization understand and plan for the financial impacts of continued development.
The City is looking for a well-rounded municipal finance professional who can think strategically without losing touch with the details - someone equally comfortable discussing long-range financial strategy with the City Manager and Council and rolling up their sleeves to solve a technical finance issue with staff.
For a finance professional who wants more than maintaining the status quo - and who values collaboration, autonomy and the opportunity to help shape a growing City's financial future - Calimesa offers a compelling next step.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a directly related field; and a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible finance experience in a municipal or comparable public agency setting, of which at least three years include supervisory or management experience. Compensation: $143,700 - $183,408 DOQ, plus an attractive benefits package.
