Calling All Animal Lovers! Become an Animal Services Officer.
Are you passionate about pets? Do you have a knack for connecting with both furry friends and their human companions? Eagle County is on the lookout for an extraordinary Animal Services Officer to join our pack!
Schedule: 4x10s: 9am - 7pm / Friday through Monday (Two on-call nights each week- Friday & Saturday.)
Applicants are encouraged to apply by, Wednesday, Dec 11th, however, the job will be kept posted until filled.
What You’ll Do
- Be the Hero Animals Deserve – Patrol the county, ensuring pets are safe and cared for, while educating pet owners about the rules. Whether it's helping a stray dog find its way home or solving pet-related disputes, you'll be on the front lines of animal care and safety.
- Enforce Animal Regulations – From issuing warnings to handling wildlife, no two days will be the same. You'll respond to calls, handle injured animals, and even assist in the proper care of animals at our shelter.
- Handle Furry (and Feathered) Friends – From kittens to skunks, you'll interact with a variety of animals. Some might be shy, others might be... let’s just say, more “spirited.” You’ll handle them all with care and compassion.
- Support Your Community – You'll also serve as a representative of Eagle County, building positive relationships with residents while educating them on proper pet care. Got a knack for public outreach? We could use your help in spreading the word about how to be the best pet parent!
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License
- Any combination of education and experience that produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
