You'll be responsible for:- Shelving materials accurately, according to the Dewey Decimal System, and maintaining shelf order.
- Assisting with the Second Story and Beyond, keeping the space safe, and restocking exhibit and craft materials.
- Emptying outside book drops in all seasons and weather conditions.
- Checking in and sorting materials according to their collections.
- Cleaning up the library at the end of the day and as areas get busy and messy.
- Pushing and pulling heavy carts and possible heavy lifting.
- Working special events like our Star Wars Day or Cultural Arts Nights, helping with game/craft/activity stations, setting up and tearing down.

Education and/or Experience: Graduation from the tenth grade or equivalent or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; principles of basic mathematics. Ability to file numerically and alphabetically; quickly learn the Dewey Decimal classification system; follow oral and written instructions; operate office machines and equipment; communicate well, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSFrequent standing and sitting. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the office; some reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONSGenerally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, odors or noise. Work schedule may include evenings and weekends.
