The Opportunity:The City is searching for a skilled, experienced and enthusiastic professional to plan, organize and coordinate comprehensive recreational and leisure services programs at a Community Recreation Center and/or a major function or program, instructional classes and activities within a specific field of expertise. Experience directing recreation staff.Education: Educational achievement equivalent to a four-year college degree in recreation or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year for year basis. Additionally, candidate must obtain a four-year college degree equivalent within three years of appointment.Special Requirements:- Ability to obtain a CPR and advanced First Aid certificate;
- ability to obtain a water safety instructor's certificate and lifeguard training when assigned to the aquatics program;
- possession of a valid class C California driver's license with a safe driving record. The employee may be required to drive personal vehicle or arrange transportation between worksites.
