SECURITY OFFICER (PART-TIME)
DEPARTMENT: ARTS AND CULTURE
This position is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all visitors, employees, volunteers, exhibitions and assets at the Irving Arts Center. Duties include patrolling the interior and exterior of the Irving Arts Center campus; assisting with crowd management; protecting against theft, fire hazards and vandalism; monitoring security cameras and fire alarm systems; enforcing City policies, rules and regulations; reporting suspicious or unlawful activities to Police and Fire Departments as appropriate; and preparing various reports, such as incident reports. Duties will require excellent customer service skills and may require standing for long periods of time, such as for standing guard in the gallery for traveling exhibits. A high school diploma or equivalent, one year of property security or related experience required, and current CPR certificate preferred. A valid Class C Texas driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required. Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. Schedule will generally include Monday/Friday evenings and Saturday/Sundays but flexibility throughout the entire week is a plus. Applicants must submit hours of availability with application.
PAY GRADE GG12 / FULL PAY RANGE $19.21 - $27.09 PER HOUR
