This position is responsible for providing professional planning and policy efforts by developing, maintaining, and updating state and federal plans, planning studies, and identifying research needs and reports for sustainability and public health. In addition, the position is responsible for ensuring ongoing coordination, cooperation, and organization with internal and external partners, including MnDOT districts and functional offices, other states, regional and local agencies, residents, and interest groups. Additional responsibilities include supervising Planning & Policy Unit staff, developing and maintaining plans and policies that advance climate action, ensuring plans and policies follow applicable federal and state laws and are consistent with agency goals, and providing oversight and guidance for budget and strategic planning efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of professional supervisory planning experience OR four years of advanced professional planning experience that demonstrates:
• Experience developing statewide or regional plans.
• Experience applying state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
