SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Manages recreation personnel in developing and implementing recreation programs. Manages facility operations and provides service to the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Position Specific Summary
The Community Engagement Recreation Program Coordinator position in the City of Tucson’s Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for scheduling, assisting, programming, and guiding volunteers, the mobile recreation program, and fleet management.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Recreation Superintendent. This position exercises supervision over recreation personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises division employees by creating scheduling staff, conducting performance evaluations, approving timecards and time off requests, assisting in the hiring of staff, ensuring that staff is properly trained and are following city and department policies and procedures.
- Recruits volunteers for special events, park maintenance, and/or special projects. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to document community service hours for volunteers.
- Keeps and maintains accurate records for reporting purposes for all areas. Collects, reviews, and submits paperwork related to fleet, mobile recreation and volunteer programs.
- Tracks and maintains budgets for supplies, equipment, uniforms and staffing.
- Schedules and transports vehicles to ensure preventative maintenance, emissions and repairs are completed.
- Communicates with the public about events and opportunities in collaboration with public information team.
- Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
6 months post high school
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of directly related experience
License:
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Full Hourly Range: $19.97 - 34.44 USD
