We Require
- Two years of professional analytical experience
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, urban planning, civil engineering or related field
- Professional level-related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
- Valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire
We Also Value
- Experience in developing grant applications submitted to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), and Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG)
- Experience coordinating grant development with public agencies, consultants, product vendors, and academia
Job Contributions
- Prepare or assist with all components of grant submission, ensuring the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with agency requirements
- Research and identify various types of available grants, including criteria. Facilitate cross-division/department communication regarding grant opportunities and applications
- Maintain knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures and present information and changes to the department. Interpret data and present conclusions and recommendations based on data and other findings
- Develop and maintain a method to track grant opportunities and status. Provide budgetary and statistical analysis of department grants
- Manage consultants in Grant Writing and development, including creation of the Scope of Work, negotiation, and adherence to budget and schedule
- Identify potential jurisdictional partnerships that would increase the competitiveness of grant applications and assist with letters of support
- Represent the department by attending jurisdictional partner meetings to propose grant partnerships and details. Maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders
Working Conditions
- The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree
