JOB SUMMARY

Assists in the overall operations of the City’s data processing where appropriate. The position will assist in the administrative work, planning, and directing and coordinating the collection activities for data processing and information systems of the City. The incumbent must be able to perform duties within a broad framework of general policy, and exercise judgment in defining work objectives and determining methods and systems to meet objectives. Perform related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Supervises Information Technology Analyst, System Support Technician, Department Coordinator and other employees as assigned.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Assumes responsibility for assigned information systems and services division including but not limited to desktop support, software support, database maintenance, light networking duties, troubleshooting computer operating systems and other related information technology services.
Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned information technology programs; and when needed will make recommendations of such to the City Manager.
Under the direction of the City Manager the incumbent will need to serve as a liaison between assigned information systems division, city personnel and departments, and outside agencies; assist City staff with various aspects of information systems; troubleshoots and determines systematic or operational problems.
Attendance is an essential function of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

7–10 years of progressively responsible IT experience. Requires knowledge of network, server and workstation operating systems, Microsoft 365 and Azure management. Demonstrated experience supporting technology operations for a multi-department or multi-site organization. Ability to work effectively with non-technical leadership, department heads, and elected officials.
