The Assistant Public Works Director leads a team of nearly 20 personnel (2 of which are direct reports) that form the Engineering Division of Public Works. The Engineering Division is responsible for developing the City’s Capital Improvement Plan; delivering capital project for the City’s water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation systems; master planning and major studies of these systems; developing and implementing various fees and charges, such as Systems Development Charges; and development review and permitting related to private construction of public infrastructure. The Assistant Director is also responsible for budgeting for the engineering division; implementing best management practices, policies, and procedures; communicating complicated technical matters to a variety of audiences in understandable terms; and working in partnership with the Director to meet the needs of the department and community.

Full-Time, Non-Represented, Management Exempt Position, 12-month Probationary Period

Annual Salary: $119,278 - $160,027
