Under general direction of the department director perform duties associated with administration of the County’s code enforcement programs related to the assessment and correction of nuisance properties.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Coordinate efforts of all County departments for the abatement of nuisance properties. 2. Assist in initial inspection of problem properties and assessment of appropriate enforcement mechanisms for correcting identified problems. 3. Work closely with Building, Zoning, Environmental Health, Public Works, Animal Control, Sheriff, Housing, and County Attorney staff and other relevant departments and agencies to specify required corrective actions for nuisance properties based on County codes and ordinances. 4. Prepare reports and maintain accurate files for compliance efforts related to nuisance properties, including entering comments and attaching photos and related documents for code enforcement efforts into the County’s computerized land use and permit data base. 5. Research ownership records and coordinate contact with property owners to initiate corrective actions as required for problem properties. 6. Coordinate preparation of criminal complaints and other legal proceedings as required to carry out code enforcement efforts. 7. Initiate regular meetings with appropriate County staff to review progress of enforcement efforts and initiate new enforcement projects. 8. Review County policies and ordinances related to code enforcement issues and recommend revisions in order to better carry out established policies and meet community needs. 9. Appear as an expert witness in court proceedings related to nuisance abatement and code enforcement matters. 10. Attend community meetings, respond to requests for information, and provide updates to interested parties as needed in order to communicate details of County’s efforts for correcting nuisance properties. 11.
