Manages the meter changed-out program by establishing work schedules, leading, directing and supporting outside contractor installation crews and subordinate staff. Maintains effective communication with customers, addressing any concerns or complaints. Negotiates price agreements and defines specifications; verses the procurement of materials and supplies; identifies the appropriate meter replacement requirements and conducts follow-up inspections to ensure the completion of work in accordance with contract specifications. Supplies information to Customer Service Quality Assurance to close out work orders; analyzes meter-reading reports to identify and address potential problem areas; acts as a back-up supervisor when needed.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) years of experience in construction, maintenance or related operations including two (2) years of experience repairing and replacing water lines, installing/testing meters or testing backflow prevention devices AND three (3) years of experience directing the work of others.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must possess a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Level 2 Water Distribution License AND a Backflow Prevention Certification at time of application (copies of License and Certification, must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/Maximo/Customer Information System (CIS); customer service complaints. Also desirable: Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Class C Wastewater Collection Certification; five (5) years of experience in meter installation (must specify on application).
SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Must obtain a FL Class A CDL within 11 months of hire.
