Jefferson County Public Health is seeking a CHIP Program Manager. The CHIP Program Manager develops a CHIP leadership structure to oversee the recurring cycle of community health assessment and community health improvement planning and implementation. The incumbent will create a supportive system with a shared vision that fosters collaboration and collective impact over the long-term and increases the use of shared assessment and measurement function and features, and encourages interconnectivity for health improvements for Jefferson County residents. Incumbent will work collaboratively with other counties in our region when a regional approach is more feasible, will leverage resources and will add or expand services available to the residents of Jefferson County.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and administering all operations involved in meeting the goals and objectives of the Jefferson County Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.
- Works collaboratively with Jefferson County Public Health programs and staff across Divisions, other community partners and organizations, and with neighboring counties in the region to carry out the purpose and initiatives of the CHIP.
- Provides direction, administration and short- and long-term planning and evaluation for CHIP processes and of initiatives/programs tied to specific indicators and measures.
- Develops and manages budget and prepares financial reports once reviewed and approved by Director and Deputy Director.
- Develops communication tools and documents to amplify and promote CHIP goals and achievements.
- Creates, reviews and approves reports which provide information and status updates for all components of CHIP and its identified health priorities.
- Liaises with Jefferson County Board of Health and Jefferson Co Hospital District Board, City of Port Townsend Council, Jefferson County Board of Commissioners, local and regional organizations, advisory boards, and agencies engaged in the CHIP process and outcomes.
Minimum qualifications:
Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty. The requirements are listed on the job description, please see attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Education and/or Experience:
Master’s Degree (MBA, MPA, MPH or related field) which includes an administrative component and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience with a minimum of two years as a Manager, Assistant Director or Director level position. Experience in epidemiology and health statistics preferred. Bachelor’s Degree combined with substantial relevant professional experience may be substituted for the Master’s Degree.
