The purpose of this position is to assist with the daily operations of the court and to ensure that all phone calls and customer visits are handled to the customer’s satisfaction. This is accomplished by explaining court options that the customer may or may not have; explaining the court process and setting court dates; developing payment plans for customers; forwarding requests to the judge or prosecutor; and clarifying any possible errors that may be on traffic citations. Other duties include assisting Accounting and Court Administrator, as needed.
This position is subject to the City of Portland’s Background Investigation and Drug Testing Policy. The City verifies all information before extending an offer of employment. New hires are required to provide proof of identity and legal authority to work in the United States per Federal law.

Qualifications
Bilingual preferred. Three years of related experience required. Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a high traffic environment required. Municipal Court Clerk I Certification preferred. Ability to be a Notary Public. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required. Must be detail oriented, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to keep organized records and multitask. High school graduation or equivalent required. Valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class C License with a good driving record required.
