Director, Workforce Development
$150,000 (Salary Negotiable)
DeKalb County seeks a dynamic and experienced Director, Workforce Development to lead the County's employment and training initiatives and departmental activities funded via the US Department of Labor, in collaboration with the Workforce Investment Board, and the Georgia Governor's Office of Workforce Development.
The ideal candidate will perform the following key responsibilities:
- Manages project planning and operations, ensuring budgets are allocated correctly according to grant guidelines, and oversees financial and administrative functions for the department. Ensures steady cash flow and financial sustainability for the department.
- Oversees program and financial management, ensuring programs stay within budget, meet timelines, and comply with financial requirements. Leads budget planning, identifies new funding opportunities, and coordinates reviews with the Governor's Office and auditors.
- Leads and supports staff, ensuring their work aligns with the Workforce Investment Board's goals. Provides supervision, coaching, and support, and monitors team progress to achieve program success.
- Builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders, including the Workforce Investment Board, state and regional agencies, and community leaders. Ensures compliance with Federal regulations and supports policy development.
- Analyzes program performance, identifies areas for improvement, and implements corrective actions. Ensures program practices align with federal initiatives and adapts strategies based on changes in industry needs.
Are you the one?
To be considered, candidates must have the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Administration, Human Resource Management, Public Administration or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred); ten years of progressively responsible experience in business administration, public administration, human resources or project management work; with three years of management experience for a comparably sized organization or as a director for a smaller organization; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
