The Public Works Director is a full-time, at-will employee, who is responsible for supervising, directing and managing all Department Heads within the Summit County Public Works Division that includes the following Departments: Road & Bridge, Engineering, Summit County Resource Allocation Park (solid waste, landfill & recycling), Snake River Wastewater Treatment Plant and Weed Control. The Public Works Director is accountable for the effective delivery of public services to the County and proper maintenance of the County’s public infrastructure. The Public Works Director plans, coordinates, implements and documents effective and responsible budgeting for all Departments within the Division. The Public Works Director is responsible for the completion and submission of such reports as may be required by the Managers Office and in maintaining the Divisions relationships with citizens, other County departments and public officials. The Public Works Director must be able to assist and actively participate in the physical operations of every Department within the Division.
