Position Summary
The Bailiff provides assistance to the Judge and Court by assisting with conducting open court sessions, updating the court record via the Odyssey Case Management system, communicating with, and assisting, members of the public and other duties as assigned. *This is not a security position.*
Position Responsibilities
Conducts open court sessions, both in-person and via remote.
Assists judicial officers and staff during court proceedings.
Updates the Odyssey Case Management system and queues as required.
Answers court telephones and responds to questions from court representatives and the general public.
Assists with the effective management of the court calendar.
Qualifications
Assists with other duties and responsibilities as need.
Minimum of a high school diploma or HSE required. Proven knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft and email) with excellent technical and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail, a must. Ability to meet strict deadlines essential.
This position has high levels of contact with the public, therefore excellent customer service skills are required.
Marion County residency required within six months from the date of hire.
Salary enhancements for bi-lingual skills as well as educational enhancements (Associate's and Bachelors' degrees) are available. Pay listed is starting pay with no experience. Applicable experience will be considered for a higher starting salary.
