Under general supervision, supports the facility operations by maintaining a central warehouse, service areas as assigned, and fuel inventories. Facilitates the repair of all Town buildings as assigned by Supervisor.
- Assists in investigating facilities repair, facilities maintenance; takes appropriate action to correct problems, either by acting as general handyman, or by contracting with outside vendors- or contractors with approval of Supervisor.
- Obtains quotes and supervises contractors to assure quality and timely work completion.
- Performs minor carpentry repairs; builds shelves; replaces dry wall installations; repairs, cleans, and prepares surfaces for painting as necessary; paints and coats surfaces in accordance with recommended methods;
- Climbs ladders to clean and repair outside gutters and second story windows;
- Orders needed parts and supplies from vendors.
- Drives Town vehicle to pick up ordered supplies.
- Maintains fuel system locations; tracks fuel usage; monitors system for potential leaks; maintains records for TCEQ compliance.
- Meets with TCEQ for inspections; accepts fuel delivery and contracts annually for fuel delivery service.
- Performs custodial functions when needed.
- Delivers and transports furniture and other items from one building to another as requested.
- Prepares required paperwork and maintains records and files.
- Maintains and tracks inventory items and stewardship assets as assigned.
- May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:- High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND
- Two (2) years of facility related trade or construction experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Conditions of Employment:- Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Underground Storage Tank A/B Operator certification is required within three (3) months of appointment.
- Safe driving record and valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Clear Criminal Background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Knowledge of methods and practices used in the maintenance, repair, and operations of commercial buildings and properties.
- Knowledge of applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
- Knowledge of budgeting and purchasing procedures and processes.
- Knowledge of work safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records.
- Skill in performing general repair and maintenance tasks.
- Skill in interpreting and applying technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed throughout Addison properties and facilities; work includes exposure to dangerous tools, machinery, and equipment, hazardous chemicals, inclement weather, and high voltage. May be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
This is a non-exempt position. Routine schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedule may be modified if department needs arise. May be required to work overtime if needed. Will be part of the on-call team on a rotating basis.
